Singleton Roosters Seeking Senior Men’s Coach for 2022

Singleton Australian Football Club is currently seeking a Senior Men’s coach for the 2022 season.

The Roosters are a progressive and family-friendly club, fielding three teams in the AFL Hunter Coast Senior and six teams in the AFL Hunter Coast Junior competition. We strive to develop our junior & existing players, promote the code, provide a safe and enjoyable football experience for all and become a respected and sought-after club. Singleton Roosters prides itself on being a community club that promotes inclusion and diversity.

The club’s senior men’s team play in the Black Diamond Cup competition of the AFL Hunter Central Coast, with a reserve grade team also competing in the Black Diamond Shield.  Since re-joining the Black Diamond Cup, our seniors have reached the finals in each of their campaigns and were well-placed to play finals again in 2021 prior to the season being cancelled.

The club has a young playing list, with a majority of players committed to the 2022 season and improving on their recent promising seasons. Recent improvements to the Rose Point Park facility have been completed and additional works are in the planning phase with Singleton Council and the AFL. The future looks bright for AFL in the Singleton region!

The successful candidate will have the skills to bring out the best of the existing squad and build a team capable of consistently challenging for finals success.  Their leadership, communication and interpersonal skills will be well developed, and their football knowledge and experience sufficient to meet the club’s long-term aspirations.  The senior coach will be required to play a leading role in club culture, player recruitment & retention.

Level 1 AFL coaching accreditation or higher is a requirement.

Applications outlining the candidate’s coaching experience, success, values and strategic vision for the team should be sent to singletonroosters@gmail.com, with any enquiries to be directed to Paul Kelly, Football Manager, on 0419 741466.  All applications and enquiries will be kept in strict confidence.

Applications close COB Sunday 31 October 2021.
