The 9 time Black Diamond Cup grand final umpire is well respected by his peers. Every umpire that has had the enormous pleasure to take to the field with Darrel has nothing but positive comments about the way he goes about his craft. Like wise with coaches and players. Darrel is a mentor, leader and advocate for our young umpires striving to make their mark in AFL umpiring, his coaching and feedback is invaluable not only to the field umpires, but also boundary and goals umpires as well.

Darrel, the entire AFL HCC community all wish you the very best on this tremendous occasion, run well and thank you for you service.
