‘Rooster’ Takes Out Sport Central Coast Award
2022 Elliott Davey Medalist and Killarney Vale premiership hero, Tim Oosterhoff, has continued to be rewarded for his stellar season, by taking out the Sport Central Coast Community Sportsperson of the Year.
The Awards, held this week at Mingara, reward the achievements of athletes, coaches, volunteers and officials across 2022. The Community Sportsperson of the Year recognizes those athletes who excel at a local level in their chosen sport, with Oosterhoff’s 100 goal season a standout amongst other outstanding candidates.
AFLHCC Board Member and Sport Central Coast Chair, Simon Smyth, was thrilled to have representation from the AFLHCC at Mingara on the night. “It was such a great acknowledgement from 3 of our AFLHCC clubs to have members nominated as finalists in their categories. Damian Ashby from The Entrance Bateau Bay and Sharni Cameron from Niagara Park Ourimbah were both finalists for Volunteer of the Year and Corey Shackleton from Killarney Vale was a finalist for Coach of the Year. To then have Tim take out the penultimate award on the night was special for AFL in our region”.
Oosterhoff received his award and a cash sponsorship from Central Coast Sports College.
