Tigers appoint Hopper as Senior Coach in 2020
Gosford AFC is pleased to announce the appointment of Cori Hopper as Senior Coach for 2020. The club is very excited with this appointment after targeting Cori as the suitable candidate weeks ago during our search for a Senior Coach. The Club and Cori have been in negotiations over the last few weeks and have reached an agreement for Cori to continue to build the club’s plan for success in the region’s top-level competitions.
Gosford AFC President Gavin Cornish is pleased with the outcome. “Cori has been on our radar throughout this search, we’ve worked hard on this and I am really excited we’ve agreed on terms”. He says this is one of the best developments the club will make in the next few years “Cori brings a proven track record which speaks for itself, not only his ability to build a successful culture but his passion and enthusiasm is infectious”. The Tigers started on their transformation 2 years ago when they were promoted to the Black Diamond Cup, where former coach and current player Josh Barty took on this challenge. “Josh has done a tremendous job in starting this transformation and I’m really looking forward to seeing Josh be a key player under Cori’s leadership.”.
New Senior Coach Cori Hopper is thrilled to be joining Gosford “It was a decision that took great consideration and a bit of soul searching but I’m certain it is a bold and progressive step”. Cori is enthusiastic about the direction of the Tigers “I’ve been impressed with their [Gosford’s] commitment to the road ahead and what they are aiming to achieve, so to secure this appointment is incredibly excited”. Hopper will get a really unique opportunity in this role “Gosford is the Central Coast oldest club with one of the youngest player rosters around and I believe this is an ideal combination to create progress and success in the very near future. I can’t wait to get started”.
Pre-Season will begin in early November, interested players should get in touch with club via email tigers@gosfordafl.com.au and keep an eye out on our Facebook page for updates.
