Elliott-Davey Award Winners 2021

The Board and League have announced the Award winners for the 2021 season. With such an interrupted and difficult season, the Board announced that some awards for 2021 should be awarded and include rounds one through to nine, just prior to the Greater Sydney lockdown that had such an impact on our competitions.

The minor premiers were announced, and as of round 9, the minor premiers for 2021 were:

In 2021 we were able to get the Senior Representative football games in prior to lockdown, with the two teams and the selected HCC umpires, all travelling down to Wollongong to take on the South Coast. The HCC Women’s were able to get the win, with the HCC men’s team getting pipped in the last 5 minutes of the game with the South Coast getting the win.

Our Representative players of the year for 2021 are Ashleigh Page from Killarney Vale and Aaron Duncan from Killarney Vale.

Thank you to all our coaches, players and umpires for their efforts in ensuring the representative teams got up and running for 2021.

The Umpire awards were a little different in 2021, with the Board deciding to have a Field, Boundary and Goal umpire of the year announced.

The Volunteer of the Year is awarded the James J Arnold Clubperson on the Year award. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our clubs and put so much hard work and effort to ensure that footy can get on the park each week. In 2021 the League and Board found it such a difficult task to find a winner, in 2021 the James J Arnold Clubperson of the Year award was decided to have a joint winner, with Nadene McBride from Singleton and Corey Shackleton from Killarney Vale taking out the honours.

Best and Fairest Awards

The Chris Arnold Medal is awarded to the Best and Fairest player in the Black Diamond Shield competition. The 2021 winner was Sam Rumball from Warners Bay on 11 votes.

In the Black Diamon Plate Women’s competition, we award the AFL HCC Black Diamond Plate Women’s Best and Fairest. This year we had joint winners with Kate Booth from Wallsend West Newcastle on 15 votes and Elise Garlick from Muswellbrook also on 15 votes.
