AFL Hunter Central Coast – Junior Competition Update (Saturday, 8 August)

The Board have met this morning to discuss the current COVID situation across the Hunter.

The Board has determined that all matches in the Under 15s, YG15s, Under 17s and YG17s will be postponed tomorrow, and rescheduled at a later date. The exception to this will be the Terrigal Giants vs TEBB Under 17 game at Hylton Moore, which will proceed (as the Central Coast does not have the COVID case numbers that Newcastle is currently experiencing). Should the Under 17 round end up cancelled at a later date, this game will be deemed as cancelled too.

Due to the number of students attending affected schools, Newcastle City has also withdrawn all teams from this weekend’s games as an additional precaution, which the Board supports.

This leaves the following games which will also be postponed/cancelled:

Cancelled (non-competitive games):
Under 9 – Maitland vs Newcastle City Blues
Under 9 – Newcastle City Whites vs Warners Bay Blue
Under 9 – Nelson Bay vs Newcastle City Double Blues
Under 9 – Newcastle City Sky Blues vs Cardiff

Postponed:
Under 11 – Newcastle City Sky Blues vs Cardiff
Under 11 – Newcastle City Whites vs Cardiff
Under 11 – Newcastle City Blues vs Warners Bay Blue
Under 11 Youth Girls – Newcastle City vs Cardiff
Under 13 – Newcastle City Blues vs Maitland
Under 13 – Newcastle City Whites vs Lake Macquarie
Under 13 – Newcastle City Blues vs Maitland
Under 13 Youth Girls – Cardiff vs Newcastle City
Under 13 – Cardiff vs Port Stephens
Under 13 – Cardiff vs Warners Bay Blue

All other age groups and games will proceed as planned.
