Nelson Bay Seeking 2020 Men’s Head Coach

The Nelson Bay Marlins Australian Football Club is seeking a Head Coach for the 2020 season.

The Head Coach’s primary role is to manage the on-field performance of the club’s senior men’s side; but providing leadership across the whole club is equally important (i.e. mentoring other coaches, driving player recruitment, coordinating off-field club resources and fostering junior development).

The Marlins home ground is located at Dick Burwell Oval, Nelson Bay. The club is a member of the AFL Hunter Central Coast League. We encourage coaches from outside Nelson Bay to apply as we play the majority of away games in Newcastle or the Central Coast. Remuneration is negotiable.

Selection Criteria
The successful candidates will have outstanding leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Well developed knowledge and expertise of the game and building a high performance team environment with the ability to develop and embed a culture of success.

Candidates will need to address the following competencies and experience:

• Level 1 (Level 2 preferred) AFL Coaching accreditation.
• Demonstrated coaching experience.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing values and behaviours for a culture of success both on and off the field.

The position is open to both playing and non-playing coaches.
