CHALLENGE CUP – POSTPONED

Due to the large amount of rainfall over the past 48 hours across the Hunter & Central Coast Regions, it has become necessary to postpone the Challenge Cup due to be held at No1 Sportsground on Sunday.

AFL Hunter Coast had been working in the background with a number of Clubs and Local Councils since Wednesday with a view to finding a suitable alternative venue in the event of wet weather. With the rain not relenting, the last of these options was exhausted at 3.30pm Friday.

AFL Hunter Coast was also mindful of the fact that families may not wish to wait until Sunday for a decision on the postponement of the Challenge Cup, which with the forecast of up to another 50mm of rain in some areas, was more likely than not.

AFL Hunter Coast will commence discussions internally to try to find a suitable replacement date, which will be communicated as soon as a decision is made.
